About Course

YESA has given urgent response to the alarming surge of the use of illicit drugs and psychotropic substances among youths, especially female youths in the society through undertaking sensitisation programs in all tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

Tertiary institutions make up about 60% of drug users because it is the formative years of many youths, where they have their first taste of independence and are therefore susceptible to influence and experimentation of new things such as hard drugs.

These sensitisation programs in tertiary institutions comprise of talks, mentorship, walks and finally, we specially selected students who become Drug Abuse Prevention Student Ambassadors (DAPSA) in the various Tertiary Institutions; these students continuously promote the fight against drug abuse in their various institutions.

The theme for our sensitisation is; EFFECTS OF DRUG AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE ON YOUTH PRODUCTIVITY AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP.
